Any business that plans on paper
A year you can see from across the room.
A wall planner still earns its keep. The diary on a phone is private. A sheet on the wall is shared: holidays, job peaks, shutdowns, who is off. Print it, hang it, write on it.
In the print dialog choose A2, landscape or portrait as your printer allows, and turn background graphics on. If you only have A4, print as a poster (2×2 pages) or take the PDF to a print shop.

The problem
A digital diary does not help the whole room.
Most businesses already have calendars. The owner has one on a phone. The office has another. The workshop has a scrap of paper. Nobody is looking at the same year.
An A2 sheet on the wall is the simplest way to put the year in front of everyone. You can see Christmas from June. You can mark the weeks you always go quiet, and the weeks you always get slammed.
What you get
A full-year grid
Twelve months, week numbers, and space to write.
UK bank holidays marked
England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, so you do not plan a job for a day the country is shut.
A few key business dates
Tax year, Self Assessment. Enough to notice. Not so many that the sheet becomes noise.
Where to use it
How to use and print it.
1. Print it at A2
That is the size it is designed for — readable from a few metres.
- Click Print / save as PDF.
- Choose A2 if your printer offers it. Turn background graphics on.
- If you only have A4, save the PDF and take it to a print shop, or print as a 2×2 poster.
2. Hang it where the week is planned
Reception, the office wall, the workshop kettle.
- Put it at eye height, not behind a door.
- Keep a marker next to it.
- Write holidays, stock takes, and the weeks you will not take new work.
3. Make it the shared view
One sheet beats three private calendars.
- Ask the team to add their time off as soon as they know it.
- Circle the busy season for your trade.
- Review it on the first Monday of each month.
Common mistakes
Three things worth avoiding.
Printing it and never writing on it.
The value is the shared notes, not the grid. If it stays pretty, it is decoration.
Hiding it in an office nobody walks through.
Hang it where people already stand still: kettle, till, reception.
Treating bank holidays as optional.
Wrong hours on a bank holiday is a fast way to a one-star review. Mark them before the year starts.
What to expect
This will not run your diary for you. It will stop the “I didn't realise you were off” conversations, and it will make the busy months visible early enough to staff them.
Print it once. Use it all year. If you want a version with your own peak weeks printed on, book a 30-minute call.
